Out of Wilderness
I’m writing in response to the editorial “A Wilderness System for Nevada” (Nov. 28). It’s nice to see that Congress hasn’t totally forgotten about our environment, although a bill to create a 14-unit, 73,400-acre wilderness system on forest lands in Nevada is only a start to what I feel should be a dedicated campaign toward promoting environmental reforms throughout the country.
National parks, once a beautiful part of the United States, and a symbol of “nature” in the true sense of the word, have been “unnaturally” destroyed at an alarming rate.
I, as well as the multitude of environmentalists, welcome any article that recognizes our environmental problems and projects a positive light toward the environment.
