Pedestrian, 78, Is Hit by Car, Dies
ORANGE — Jesus Herrera, 78, of Orange died Friday of massive head injuries after being struck by a car shortly after 10 p.m. as he was crossing North Esplanade Street in front of his home, authorities said.
Herrera was pronounced dead at United Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. The motorist, a 16-year-old girl who was driving a BMW, has not been charged. The girl’s name was not released because of her age.
