Michel Warren Bell--known as Mic Bell when he sang with the Fifth Dimension--will sing Joe in Jerome Kern’s “Show Boat” for Opera Pacific July 13 through 22 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, according to a biography of the performer printed in a Los Angeles Philharmonic program booklet last week. Opera Pacific officials did not return calls to confirm or deny the information. Bell was seen as Porgy in a revival of the Houston Grand Opera production of “Porgy and Bess” that Opera Pacific brought to the Center in 1987.
