Some friendships seem to last forever.
And fortunately for TV viewers, that seems to be the case for Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett.
“Julie & Carol: Together Again,” the latest collaboration for these longtime chums, is an hourlong ABC special airing Wednesday at 10 p.m. on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42. The duo’s first special was telecast 27 years ago at Carnegie Hall in 1962. They teamed up again on TV at Lincoln Center in 1971.
The new ABC hour of comedy, song and nostalgia was taped in June at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.
Among the highlights: a rap number celebrating motherhood and middle age; an unorthodox tea party; a medley of songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s; and a country-style rendition of “Phantom of the Opera.”
