Pan Am Awards Boeing $53-Million Contract: Boeing Military Airplanes has received a $53-million order from Pan American World Airways to update 13 Boeing 747 passenger aircraft. The contract, to be completed by 1993, will involve structural updates such as replacing longitudinal floor beams over wheel wells, modifying strut-to-wing attach lugs and replacing certain body frames.
