Holiday Sobriety Checkpoint Nets 7
Seven people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs Saturday night at a holiday season sobriety checkpoint in Glendale.
More than 1,000 cars passed through the checkpoint, conducted by the Glendale Police Department and the California Highway Patrol on Glendale Avenue near the 134 Freeway between 6:30 p.m. and 3 a.m., Glendale Police Sergeant James Fitzgerald said.
Glendale police have scheduled more checkpoints before Christmas, Fitzgerald said. “It’s the holiday season; there are drunk drivers out there,” he said.
