Loss of License Upheld
SAN FRANCISCO — The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld the revocation of the pilot’s license of Ralph W. Myers, who flew his single-engine plane in 1987 in the restricted flight area over the Santa Barbara-area ranch of then-President Ronald Reagan.
Testimony indicated that Myers’ plane came within about 100 feet of the President’s helicopter.
Myers contended that the administrative law judge of the National Transportation Safety Board made procedural errors. But the court, in a ruling Tuesday, rejected Myers’ contentions and said license revocation was “appropriate.”
