Culver City : City Hall Features Protected
Many of City Hall’s ornamental medallions, relief portraits and plaques are to be saved and incorporated in the new City Hall, but the Redevelopment Agency has decided to hire a company to fashion latex molds of them as a safeguard.
Anticipating possible damage to the ornamental features during the demolition of City Hall, the agency directed staff to prepare a contract, not to exceed $15,000, with Moonlight Molds Inc. to make latex molds and plaster casts.
The molds will be kept in case the original features are damaged and have to be re-created.
