DIGEST : Agoura Girls Set Record in Soccer
The Agoura girls’ soccer team has set a Southern Section record for the most consecutive matches without a loss.
The Chargers tied Westlake, 1-1, Wednesday to run their unbeaten streak to 85 matches and eclipse the previous mark of 84 set by Mission Viejo from 1986 to ’89.
The American Roundball Corp. Mid Valley eighth-grade team, featuring 6-foot-9 Alex Lopez of Granada Hills, will play the Broadmeadows Broncos junior varsity team from Australia at 6 p.m. in the first half of a doubleheader Saturday at Monroe High. In the second game, the Long Beach Lakers will play the Broadmeadows varsity.
On Sunday, Long Beach will meet the junior varsity team at 6 p.m. and Mid Valley will play the varsity squad in the second game.
The USC Trojan Christmas Baseball Camp is scheduled for Dec. 26-29 at Dedeaux Field. The camp, run by Coach Mike Gillespie, is open to children aged 13 to 17.
Moorpark College’s Winter Baseball Camp is accepting applications for the Dec. 26-29 session.
Players grades eight through 10 are invited to learn baseball fundamentals under the tutelage of Moorpark Coach Ken Wagner and members of the team.
