3 Wounded in Spain; Basques Are Blamed

MADRID — Suspected Basque separatists shot and wounded a Spanish army colonel, and two policemen were hurt while defusing a bomb, police said Friday.
Col. Juan Marco Arnau, 59, acting chief of staff in the Valencia region, was the second senior army officer to be attacked in less than 48 hours.
