Charles White, a former USC and Ram tailback, was named a special assistant to USC Athletic Director Mike McGee.
White, 31, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1979, will be involved in the USC athletic department’s program on drug abuse and education. White had problems with drugs and alcohol during his NFL career.
