Cal Lutheran Loses 12th in a Row
Cal Lutheran continues to look for its first victory of the season after Sonoma State defeated the Kingsmen, 85-75, Friday night in a nonconference game at Sonoma State.
Cal Lutheran (0-12) was within striking distance for most of the contest. Sonoma (7-2) led, 37-36, at halftime but built its edge to 54-47 with a 17-11 run over the first 3:55 of the second half.
Cal Lutheran guard Jeff deLaveaga scored seven of his 28 points during a 14-9 burst, pulling the Kingsmen to 63-61 with 7:27 left. Sonoma forward Todd Blakely retaliated with five of his 24 points during an ensuing 12-3 run that sealed the victory.
Brendan Dillon scored 14 points for CLU.
