WORLD : Car of Athens Publisher Blasted
ATHENS — A bomb explosion blasted the car of Socialist Deputy and newspaper publisher Makis Kouris today but there were no injuries, police said.
The explosion shattered the car parked outside Kouris’ home in the northern Athens suburb of Halandri and smashed windows of nearby houses. Kouris arrived at his house minutes before the early morning explosion.
Police said no one claimed responsibility for the attack.
Kouris, a staunch supporter of former Socialist Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou, publishes the afternoon daily Avriani and runs a private radio station with the same name.
