Disney to Market Spanish Comics: Walt Disney...
Disney to Market Spanish Comics: Walt Disney Co. has teamed up with two Latin American publishers to market nine new Disney comics in Spanish-speaking countries in the region. Several regional publishers already offer Spanish-language Disney comics, but the joint venture will eventually become the sole source of comics in Latin America, the Burbank company said. The joint venture was expected to help Disney triple the sale of its Spanish-language comics to 20 million copies annually within three years. The new partnership will include Abril, publisher of Portuguese-language Disney comics in Brazil, and Columbia’s Editora Cinco, which sells Spanish-language periodicals.
