Jobless Rate Down: Propelled by seasonal hiring, Orange County’s unemployment rate plunged to 2.5% in November, down from October’s 2.9%. Last month’s jobless rate was the lowest in the county since the 2.5% reported in March. There were an estimated 34,000 jobless workers in the county during November, down from 40,400 in October, according to figures compiled by the state Employment Development Department.
