From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports
Janet Jackson has added a special date to her concert tour--a March 16 fund-raiser for the United Negro College Fund in New York’s Madison Square Garden. “We are elated to accept Janet’s generous offer to lend her talents to help deserving students complete their education,” said William Allen, UNCF executive vice president. “Jackson is a role model for all young people to emulate and the message she has gotten to the young people of this country through the lyrics of ‘Rhythm Nation 1814’ is having positive effects.” Jackson’s tour starts March 1 in Miami.
