Phoenix Mayor Resigns to Run for Governor
PHOENIX — Mayor Terry Goddard resigned today and announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for governor.
Goddard, 43, will try to follow in the footsteps of his father, Sam Goddard, who served as governor of Arizona in 1965-66. The senior Goddard currently is chairman of the state Democratic Party.
