NBC Shuffles Lineup to Test Series Tryouts
The NBC lineup will go through a series of shuffles this spring to make room for tryouts of such new series as Carol Burnett’s “Carol and Company” and Robert Mitchum’s “A Family For Joe,” it was announced today.
The first current show to bite the dust--but only temporarily--will be “227.”
“Over the course of the next two months, close to a dozen television series will be joining the NBC lineup,” said Brandon Tartikoff, president of NBC Entertainment. “To make room for these shows, several of our successful shows--many of which are time period winners such as ‘227’--will go on temporary hiatus.”
To begin the process, NBC will switch “Alf” from Monday night to the “227” Saturday slot beginning March 3 and bring back “My Two Dads” on March 5.
Among the new series are “Nasty Boys,” already scheduled to begin its series run next Friday, and “A Family For Joe,” the Mitchum sitcom that will air as a Sunday movie Feb. 25. No date has been announced for the series start.
