Airline Service

The combined call to upgrade our airport and air service is fallacious in that the airport has not been an inhibiting factor in development of our air service. But there are three inhibiting factors to upgraded air service here. Upgraded service is already available at Los Angeles International Airport, less than 100 miles from parts of Greater San Diego. We are at the geographic corner of the United States where no major airline is likely to establish hub service. And we are not big enough to justify frequent non-stop service to major cities.

Upgraded air service would be nice, but upgrading our airport would not necessarily be followed by any upgrading of our air service.
