Man Surrenders in Hit-and-Run Death of 9-Year-Old Boy
A 19-year-old Reseda man surrendered to police in the hit-and-run death of a 9-year-old Canoga Park boy, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
Kayvon Shapoor Kadjar was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run when he turned himself in at the Police Department’s Devonshire Division station about two hours after the accident, which occurred at 7:30 p.m. Monday near Nordhoff Street and Comanche Avenue, police said.
Kadjar was released on $1,000 bail, police said.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials identified the boy as Christopher Deanfrasio.
Police said two motorists who saw the accident chased the driver for several blocks but lost track of his speeding truck.
