Four Plead No Contest in ‘Skinhead’ Assault
Four people accused of making racial slurs and assaulting an Iranian couple last May in a La Verne supermarket parking lot have pleaded no contest in Pomona Superior Court. Police said the four looked like “skinheads” and were carrying “white power” cards.
Timothy Robert Zaal, 25, of Glendora was sentenced to a year in County Jail and three years’ probation and Scott Robert Wilson, 28, of West Covina received 180 days in jail and three years’ probation after each pleaded to a charge of felony assault.
William Killackey, 21, of Covina was sentenced to 120 days in jail and two years’ probation after pleading to a misdemeanor battery charge. His sister, Amy, 19, of Yorba Linda was sentenced to 34 days in jail and two years’ probation on the same charge.
The victims testified that they were walking to their car when the defendants followed them, and, apparently thinking they were Jewish, made anti-Semitic remarks and fought with them.
