Merger Mania: For the third year in a row, Geneva Cos. in Irvine has topped the list as the most active initiator of mergers and acquisitions in the world, according to an industry trade weekly.
Corporate Financing Week said Geneva advertised 65 deals last year as initiated and closed, down from the 80 transactions it did the previous year but well ahead of the 42 deals advertised by London-based Henry Ansbacher in second place.
The tally of tombstone ads in the Wall Street Journal does not address the size of the transactions, include transfers of less than controlling interest or include unadvertised transactions.
