LOCAL : Younger Brother Guilty of Killing Parents, Eligible for Death Row
One of two brothers charged with masterminding the contract slayings of their elderly parents as they returned from a Yom Kippur gathering in 1985 was convicted today of two counts of first-degree murder.
Stewart Woodman, 40, of Hidden Hills was also found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and special circumstance allegations, including murder for financial gain, that qualify him for a possible death sentence.
A Superior Court jury reached its verdicts late Tuesday, its eighth day of deliberations. The verdicts were sealed until today.
Last Thursday, the same jury convicted Anthony Majoy, 51, of Reseda, a reputed hit man who acted as a lookout during the murders, of the same charges.
Woodman’s brother, Neil Woodman, 45, has not yet come to trial. Also facing trial are two other reputed hired killers, Steven Homick, 48, a former Los Angeles police officer, and his brother, Robert Homick, a West Los Angeles attorney.
