Radically Different Opinions of Activist’s ‘Journey of Conscience’

Regarding your story on Mary Brent Wehrli: Why was an American citizen arrested for asking a question of the President? What was she charged with? When do American citizens have an opportunity to question our President in public?

Anyone who has written to any President knows that the only answer they will receive will be a political form letter that often doesn’t address the questions posed by the writer. Now our President has announced that he will be less available to the small group of press representatives who are allowed to ask questions, and he has made it plain he won’t answer any questions he dislikes.

It is appalling to me that a citizen in this country is called a radical because she questions the policies of a government supported by her tax dollars. Arresting citizens for asking questions of their leaders is more suited to a totalitarian system than to a democracy.
