Compton Board to Hold Special Session
COMPTON — School board members have scheduled a special meeting at 1 p.m. today to review the current budget and to work on the 1990-91 budget. The Compton Unified School District’s administration is asking the board to list its spending priorities.
Stafford Offerman, the district’s controller, said last week that there is a projected budget shortfall for the coming year, but would not specify an amount. Total spending for the current year is about $140 million. Last week, the administration drew up a list of possible spending cuts, but the board did not accept any.
The meeting will be held at the district Administration Building on Tamarind Avenue.
