A bullet was fired at a Greyhound bus on an Arizona highway Saturday as a nationwide strike against the company continued, officials said.

No new contract talks were scheduled in the strike, which is now in its second week, but federal mediators and union leaders are scheduled to meet Monday in Washington to discuss the labor dispute.

In Phoenix, Greyhound officials said someone in a passing vehicle shot a bullet through the passenger door window of a bus en route Saturday to Los Angeles. There were no injuries. Police said they had a suspect in the shooting.

In Seattle, meanwhile, a half-dozen Greyhound buses were delayed by pickets who blocked the depot exit for several hours late Friday.

The Amalgamated Council of Greyhound Local Unions, which represents 6,300 drivers and more than 3,000 office and maintenance workers, went on strike against the only nationwide bus company March 2 after they failed to reach agreement on a new three-year contract.
