For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions on what to do in the garden this week from the California Assn. of Nurserymen:

* Plant vegetables such as lettuce, radishes, beans and corn in successive plantings to extend the harvest time.

* March is a good month to plant citrus of all kinds: oranges, lemons, limes or grapefruit. Space limited? Try a dwarf citrus tree in a container on the patio.

* Shasta and marguerite daisies brighten the garden with their perky flowers.

* Check into planting vegetables in containers such as hanging baskets or wooden barrels.
