The heart problem that led to pitcher Dave Leiper’s overnight stay in a hospital early this week is one doctors believe can be corrected with “relatively minor surgery,” Oakland Athletic General Manager Sandy Alderson said.
Leiper has what is described as an irregular heartbeat. He suffered a mild heart attack two years ago.
