Buzz Out to See the Insect Fair
At this weekend’s Insect Fair, youngsters can pet a tarantula, hold a millipede and touch a Hercules beetle.
Sponsored by the Lorquin Entomological Society and the Natural History Museum, and held at the Los Angeles State and County Arboretum (don’t go to the Natural History Museum by mistake), this is the big annual event in the bug world.
More than 45 exhibitors will be on hand with specimens from around the world and will offer advice on how to start your own insect collection.
The Insect Fair is free with arboretum admission ($3 for adults, 75 cents for children). The arboretum is located at 301 N. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. Information: (818) 446-8251.
