Rapping the Law: The rap group 2 Live Crew filed suit in federal court Friday trying to stop obscenity arrests for sales of their sexually explicit recording “As Nasty as They Wanna Be.” The lawsuit came a week after a judge ruled there was probable cause to find the platinum double-album obscene and store owners were warned that they faced arrest if they continued selling the recording. The “Nasty” recording carries a label warning for explicit lyrics. A Sarasota record store employee was arrested Thursday and charged with a felony after he allegedly sold the “Nasty” recording to a minor.
