Big Commitment for “Harry and the Hendersons”: MCA TV on Monday announced an unprecedented 72-episode production commitment for “Harry and the Hendersons”--a new half-hour weekly series, based on the 1987 movie of the same name. The show, produced by Amblin Television and Universal Television, will premiere in first-run syndication beginning January, 1991. In what is being touted as the largest commitment ever made to any new network or syndicated program, Fox TV stations (including KTTV/Los Angeles) have committed to a three-year weekly syndicated run.
