A teen-ager was killed but another escaped injury in a one-car crash Monday morning, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Jason A. White, 17, of Spring Valley, was southbound on Grand Avenue about 10:55 a.m. when he lost control of his car about half a mile south of Eucalyptus Street, officers said.
The car, which was traveling between 80 and 100 m.p.h.--in a 25 m.p.h. zone--hit a dirt bank and overturned, crushing White’s head and chest, officers said. White, was driving under the influence of alcohol and was not wearing a seat belt, officers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:29 a.m.
White’s passenger, Jeffrey Keeley, 16, of Spring Valley, was not hurt in the crash, officers said.
