Political Labels
Since our news media insist on calling the Nicaraguan freedom fighters the “U.S.-backed Contras,” why don’t they in the interests of consistency and fairness identify the defeated former rulers of that country as the “Communist-backed Sandinistas” and tag the revolutionaries in South Africa as the “Marxist-supported African National Congress”?
After all, truth in labeling should not be confined to foods and drugs.
