San Diego
Police are hunting two men who took more than $3,000 in unrelated bank robberies Wednesday.
About 10:30 a.m., a man in a blue suit and white shirt entered the Home Federal Savings branch in the 3900 block of 30th Street and gave a teller a note stating, “You are being robbed, give me your $20s, $50s and $100s.” He then told the teller that he was serious, said Bill Robinson, a spokesman for the San Diego Police Department. The man netted $2,910.
The robber was described as black, about 25 years old, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, with a medium build, Robinson said. He also has a mustache, a receding hairline and black, collar-length hair.
Robinson said the robber fits the description of a man who robbed two banks in February. On Feb. 8, Grossmont Bank, in the 3700 block of 5th Avenue, was robbed of $700. On Feb. 23, Great Western Bank, in the 3000 block of El Cajon Boulevard, was robbed of $980.
Also about noon Tuesday, a man entered the back door of Great American Bank, in the 9900 block of Scripps Ranch Boulevard, told a teller that he had a gun and demanded money, Robinson said. The man escaped with $1,612.
The robber is described as white, in his 20s, with brown collar-length hair. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, jeans and mirrored sunglasses, Robinson said.
