California IN BRIEF : BARSTOW : Ex-Scoutmaster Gets 42-Year Term

A former Scoutmaster was sentenced Friday to 42 years in prison for molesting 15 children, most of them Boy Scouts in his troop. James Buxton, 43, of Wonder Valley, a community outside Twentynine Palms, pleaded guilty in February to 18 counts. He will be eligible for parole in about 19 years. Buxton was a Scoutmaster in the Morongo Basin area in southeastern San Bernardino County. The molestations took place in 1988.
