In the Pasadena Games:
Kelly Flathers of Mater Dei High School passed Hawthorne’s Kendra Ossey and held off a late surge by Muir’s Rhonda Robinson to win the 800 in a personal-best time of 2:19.66 at Occidental College. Robinson was second (2:19.87) and Ossey was third (2:20.03).
Mission Viejo long jumpers Tammy Graham (17-1 1/4) and Allison Axtell (17-0) placed second and third behind West Bakersfield’s Kam Warner (17-10 1/2) and Mission Viejo’s Kristin Dun took third in the shot put with a toss of 39-7 3/4.
In the boys’ division, El Modena’s Mike Terry won the 800 in 1:54.29. Corona del Mar’s distance medley relay team was timed in 10:49.02, good for third place behind Redlands (10:27.99) and Palos Verdes (10:34.43).
