THE SIDELINES : Altman to Return to Wildcats
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Former Kansas State assistant Dana Altman will return to head the Wildcats’ basketball program after a year as Marshall coach, according to news reports today.
Altman will replace Lon Kruger, whom he assisted before taking the Thundering Herd job last summer, television and newspaper reports said. Kruger is leaving Manhattan, Kan., after four years to become head coach at the University of Florida.
KAKE-TV in Wichita, Kan., and the Capital Journal of Topeka reported that Altman will be named to replace Kruger. Telephone messages to Altman weren’t immediately returned today. Neither Mossman nor Wildcats Athletic Director Steve Miller would confirm the reports.
