Getting Ready for the Next One
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed April as “Earthquake Preparedness Month” and has planned a number of activities.
Included are a series of earthquake expositions featuring the Yogi Bear School House, fire engines, helicopters, hazardous materials and paramedic units, and emergency communications equipment.
The dates, locations and times are: noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose, West Hollywood; noon to 4 p.m. April 14, Lakewood Mall, Lakewood and Del Amo boulevards, Lakewood; noon to 4 p.m. April 21, Santa Anita Fashion Park, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., Arcadia, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 28 and 29, Palmdale City Hall, 708 E. Palmdale Blvd., Palmdale.
