Gang-Related Shooting Leads to Crash; 6 Injured
A teen-age girl suffered a critical head wound in a gang-related shooting Monday afternoon that led to a traffic accident just northwest of downtown Los Angeles, police said.
The victim, whose name and age were not released, was shot in the head at Beverly Boulevard and Burlington Avenue, police said. She was in critical condition at County-USC Medical Center.
Later, a vehicle carrying a teen-age boy suspected in the shooting collided with another vehicle on Belmont Avenue. The boy was booked for investigation of attempted murder, police said. Five other people were hurt in the crash, two critically.
