Bob Hope’s Land Holdings
What follows is a notice from our local homeowners newsletter:
“According to a recent report in the Los Angeles Times, Continental Communities Inc. has acquired a 195-acre parcel at the northwest corner of Las Virgenes Road and the Ventura Freeway. The developer acquired the property for $10 million from entertainer Bob Hope. Continental has announced plans to build 75 homes, a 40,000-square-foot office building and a 250,000-square-foot shopping center. This large project would have a major impact on our already congested freeways and social services and will likely be an item of major interest (to our homeowners association) in the near future.”
There was a formal appeal made to Hope to donate the land for public use. Let’s see, he’s 86. I guess he needs the money.
