Lorraine Gives Oral Commitment to Stanford
Andrew Lorraine, a senior left-hander from Hart High, said Friday he has orally committed to play baseball for Stanford.
Lorraine, 4-0 with four saves, an 0.51 earned-run average and 65 strikeouts in 41 innings, also visited Cal, USC, Loyola Marymount and Arizona State.
Stanford, which won consecutive national championships in 1987 and 1988, does not have a left-hander on its traveling squad, and Lorraine said he may start or relieve. Lorraine has a 3.75 grade-point average.
