SHORT TAKES : Ellen Barkin Joins ‘Switch’ Cast

Ellen Barkin has been added to the cast of “Switch,” joining Jimmy Smits, JoBeth Williams and Lorraine Bracco in the Blake Edwards comedy.

“Switch,” to be directed by Edwards from his original story and screenplay, is a contemporary fantasy about a male chauvinist who dies and is reincarnated as a beautiful woman.

Barkin will be seen as the sexy and beautiful woman possessed by the mind of a macho male. She most recently co-starred in “Sea of Love” and “The Big Easy.”
