Iran Rejects Egypt Ties

TEHRAN — The Iranian Foreign Ministry said Sunday that it has rejected repeated Egyptian offers of diplomatic relations with Iran.
Ministry spokesman Morteza Sarmadi said Iran is opposed to establishing links with Egypt because of its peace treaty with Israel. He denied that Iran, which broke off ties with Egypt in 1979 over the peace treaty, has volunteered to patch up differences with Cairo.
