Booklet Offers Eastern Europe Tips
A booklet entitled “Travel to the Soviet Union--What You Should Know Before You Go” is being offered free by Love Holidays/Uniworld, a Sherman Oaks company specializing in tours for mature travelers to Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.
The booklet contains hints about the Soviet people, packing, arrival and departure formalities, currency, modes of travel, food and water, crime and the black market, tipping and shopping, and also lists items that are difficult to find in some Soviet cities, including batteries, aspirin, toothpaste, mouthwash, vitamins, shampoo, small tissue packs and film.
Intourist, the Soviet agency for tourism, has worked with Love Holidays/Uniworld to create a series of itineraries for mature travelers for fall, winter and spring of 1990/1991. Tours vary from 8 to 13 days and are priced from $898 to $1,398 per person, including round-trip air fare from Los Angeles via Finnair. Most tours include stays in Helsinki.
Prices and complete itineraries are described in a free “Affordable Russia” catalogue. To receive either publication, write to Love Holidays/Uniworld, 15315 Magnolia Blvd., Sherman Oaks 91403 or call either (213) 873-7991 or (818) 501-6868.
