PORT HUENEME : Man Who Said He Had Gun Robs Bank
A Port Hueneme bank was robbed Friday by a man who said he was carrying a gun, authorities reported.
The man entered Imperial Savings at 2671 N. Ventura Road about 11 a.m. and slipped a note to a teller demanding money, said Lisa Kiel, a Port Hueneme Police Department dispatcher.
The man said he had a gun, Kiel said. The teller, who saw no gun, gave him an undisclosed amount of money and the man fled on foot, Kiel said.
Police responded to a silent alarm at the bank but did not catch the robber, Kiel said.
The robber is described as a Latino male in his mid-30s, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. The man, who has brown hair and brown eyes, was wearing a blue baseball cap and a plaid shirt, Kiel said.
