Major Preview: Christie’s is hosting a public preview of an upcoming New York art auction today, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The selection of American masterworks includes Thomas Eakins’ watercolor, “John Biglin in a Single Scull,” and Alfred Bierstadt’s landscape, “Passing Storm in Yosemite,” each valued at $800,000 to $1.2 million.
