Music Center Opera Goes to Orange County: In an effort to share costs and increase audiences, Los Angeles Music Center Opera will rehearse and open a production of Puccini’s “La Fanciulla del West” in Orange County Performing Arts Center before its five-performance run in Los Angeles. As part of the collaboration, Placido Domingo, the tenor who doubles as artistic consultant to Music Center Opera, will sing in “Fanciulla” and perform at a benefit recital for Opera Pacific to open the 1991-92 season. The date of the recital was not announced.
