The following is a summary of Southern California-related business litigation developments during the week of April 23:

Pathe Communications Suit: Pathe Communications Corp. sued businessman Giovanni DiStefano in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming he owes $1.7 million for an unpaid loan, rent and services, and contractual damages for failing to purchase Pathe shares as he allegedly promised. The suit follows DiStefano’s libel suit filed April 20, in which he seeks $281 million plus punitive damages because Pathe took out newspaper ads saying he had never been a company director or officer. DiStefano says he was a senior vice president “virtually in charge of sales and acquisitions” from November, 1989, until early this year. (Filed April 23, 1990. Case No. C759178)
