Congress and Administration Sidestep Long-Term Problems
What a relief it was to see The Times give front-page treatment to Nelson’s analysis of the major problem facing our nation--preparing for the 21st Century.
For years we have witnessed the deterioration of the systems which provide sustenance and support for the children of this nation, namely, education and health care.
Hopefully, the Nelson article is the first installment of a campaign to arouse public demand for a national education system which prepares students for the next century, and a national health care system which provides the care essential for their survival and success.
