Chapman Rallies in Ninth Inning to Edge UCLA
Chapman College scored two runs in the ninth inning to defeat UCLA, 5-4, in a nonconference baseball game Thursday at Hart Park in Orange.
Mark Landeros singled in Jason Rolish, who doubled, to tie the score. Tom Allison singled in Jody Garcia to give the Panthers (29-19) their sixth consecutive victory after six consecutive losses.
Chapman, an NCAA Division II team that will move to Division I in the 1992 season, is 7-4 against Division I teams this season.
UCLA (32-21), ranked No. 20 in Division I, took a 3-2 lead with two runs in the sixth inning.
